Amid preparations to resume talks between Iran and the powers over the nuclear deal, a cabinet member told Israel Today: "The election of the Biden administration raises the risk of a security confrontation with Iran. In recent months there have been a series of security incidents in which Iran has created high tensions, including vulnerability. "Israeliness in Iranian soldiers, but the other side held back," he noted.

"The fear of Trump restrained them and they had hope that Biden would win. Now that he has won, they are less afraid. There is no restraining factor. So they will allow themselves to act."

The remarks were made a few days ago, before the cargo scene in the Golan was revealed yesterday and the attack that followed tonight.

At this stage, Israel refuses to say exactly what Israel's requirements will be from the amended agreement if negotiations are indeed opened on the issue, but the general statement is "reaching an unpaved agreement."

It is estimated that Israel will require a significant extension of the expiration dates of the agreement, halting the missile program and preventing Iran's ability to procure materials essential to the nuclear fission process.

Israel is also expected to demand that the agreement include an Iranian commitment to cease its aggression and support for terrorist acts.

These aspects were poorly addressed in the 2015 nuclear deal signed by the Obama administration.

Political sources stress that preparations for the resumption of talks between Iran and the superpowers have already been made because both President Trump and Joe Biden have indicated during the presidential election period that they intend to open talks with Iran, with a view to reaching an amended nuclear agreement with it.
