“The Palestinian issue in youth awareness” is the title of the symposium organized by the National Union of Syrian Students and the Jerusalem International Foundation - Syria at the Film Club of October University.
Dr. Khalaf Al-Muftah, Director General of Al-Quds International Foundation-Syria, emphasized the importance of stimulating youth awareness of the Palestinian issue in the face of attempts to disengage the Arab people's conscience with it by focusing on building a civilized cognitive force that contributes to confrontation and the formation of a single Arab position dependent on developing and strengthening the components of Arab culture and depth Human civilization of the nation.
Al-Muftah pointed to the importance of transforming youth into knowledge capital to be effective in civilization in light of the real challenges facing the region that seeks to convert it into a consumer market instead of being productive and thus keeping it at the bottom of the civilization peace, stressing the role of the Arabic language as an advanced cultural state as it constitutes an umbrella It is inclusive of all and it represents identity and culture, and it is the broad cultural space that gives power and status. Therefore, there is a cognitive dimension in the context of the confrontation with the Zionist entity, where awareness should be stimulated to triumph over this entity.
In turn, Khaled Abdul Majeed, Secretary-General of the Palestinian Struggle Front, referred to the role of Syrian universities in raising the level of Palestinian students, as they embraced them over decades, pointing out that the role of youth armed with knowledge and knowledge constitutes a basis for investing their energies and directing them towards the nation’s issues with fixed options represented by resistance and the continuation of the Palestinian struggle as the only way to restore Rights.
Abdul Majeed praised the sacrifices made and made by Syria and its people for the sake of the Palestinian cause, stressing that the youth are the foundations of the future in all fields and they are the defenders of the sovereignty of homelands.
Dr. Maan Salah al-Din Ali, a member of the Board of Directors of Al-Quds International Foundation in Syria, explained the importance of the university’s role in promoting a culture of belonging to the front line and steadfastness in the face of all schemes targeting the Arab nation and its existence, pointing out that what is happening recently in terms of normalization between some countries and the Zionist enemy is the most dangerous, but this Normalization is not and will not be with the Arab peoples because the conflict is an Arab-Zionist conflict, and the awareness that has formed among Arab youth, generation after generation, whether it is political, military, social or cultural, will confront all attempts that target Arab issues, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause.
The symposium was moderated by Omar Jabaei, Head of the Culture and Information Office of the National Union of Syrian Students, and was attended by student and academic cadres.
