The 7-day incidence in the Freising district must be corrected upwards: According to the district office, the new reporting system caused problems.
The district administrator regrets the data glitch.
Freising
- The numbers gave courage: The
seven-day incidence
in the Freising district has
steadily fallen over the past few days
.
On Wednesday morning, the
Robert Koch Institute
even reported a value of just 73 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
However, there was a
rude awakening
late Wednesday afternoon
: the
numbers are not correct
, reported the district office.
In fact, the value is 144.
Numbers must be corrected upwards
What went wrong there?
Eva Zimmerhof, spokeswoman for the district office, reports: "The number of
corona cases
from January 6 to 12, 2021 and the
corresponding 7-day incidence
for the Freising district must be corrected upwards.
The comparatively low numbers of the past few days are due to
problems with a system change
in the reporting process. "
Background:
Positive PCR tests
in the district are reported by the laboratories to the
Freising Health Department
.
The health department forwards the data to the Robert Koch Institute and the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL).
Zimmerhof: “On January 6th, laboratories began to enter the results of PCR tests into the new electronic reporting system DEMIS, which
transmits
positive test results
to the Freising Health Department.
The Freising health department initially had problems accessing this new reporting system. ”These technical problems were resolved on January 12th.
Zimmerhof continues: "Since the laboratories forwarded some of the data - in addition to or as an alternative to transmission via DEMIS - using the previous channels, the health department had figures that did not
correspond to
the actual number of
corona cases
."
As of Monday, FFP2 masks are required when shopping and in public transport. Pharmacists in the Freising district have already experienced an enormous rush. But not all offers are good.
The health department and the contact tracing team work on arrears
The consequences:
Citizens who tested
positive for
Covid-19
received their test results directly from the laboratory and accordingly knew about the
quarantine that applied to them
.
“As a result of the technical problems with access to DEMIS, however, there were delays in determining the contact persons in category
KP1
by the
Contact Tracing Team,
” explains the press officer.
The problems should now be resolved as quickly as possible: "The Freising Health Department and the CTT are currently working on these
residues
."
District Administrator Helmut Petz
regrets the mishap, as it is about the
trust of the population
in official information: “As the health department and District Office Freising we want to provide the people in the district with reliable and comprehensive information.
This is
particularly important
in a
crisis situation
characterized
by great
uncertainty
.
So I very much regret that we have provided the population with incorrect information in the past few days, ”said Petz on Wednesday.
"We have to do everything we can to avoid something like this in the future."
Current Figures: A total of 4761 people tested positive
The numbers now look like this: Currently (as of January 13, 3 p.m.)
a total of 4761 people
in the Freising district have
tested positive for Covid-19
since February 29, 2020
.
Since the pandemic began, 79 people have died from or with the virus.
Because not all nurses want to be vaccinated, the Prime Minister is thinking out loud about mandatory vaccination. Home managers in the Freising district consider this to be counterproductive.
