The fourth wave of new crown pneumonia in Hong Kong continues. The Centre for Health Protection announced today (17th) 55 new confirmed cases, and the number of initial confirmed cases exceeded 80.

The Director of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health, Cheung Chuk-kun, announced that there were 4 new cases in Yau Ma Tei and Jordan. A total of 8 buildings were added to the list in the "affected area" in the past two days. The total number has increased to 32. Residents of the first 20 buildings must complete the test tomorrow at the latest.

In other parts of Hong Kong, two buildings have been included in mandatory inspections, namely, Block 2, Lido Garden, Sham Tseng, and On Tai Building, Hung Hom.

Zhang Zhujun pointed out that the information currently announced is preliminary and can only be confirmed after implementation.

Three more buildings in the Temple Street epidemic area have patients

Recently, a large-scale outbreak occurred in the area from Yau Ma Tei to near Jordan. The government divided the communities into compulsory testing and tightened the threshold.

The Director of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health, Zhang Chukjun, announced today that 4 additional cases were located in the affected areas around Yau Ma Tei and Jordan. Therefore, 4 buildings are subject to compulsory testing, including the Huai Gao Building on Nanjing Street and Battery Street. Chang An Building, No. 18 Ferry Street, Mong Kok, No. 157-159 Temple Street.

Each of these buildings has 1 unit and 1 person affected, but Zhang Zhujun said that the list needs to be confirmed.

Zhang revealed that among the newly diagnosed people in the four buildings, one was a temporarily unemployed construction worker, a toilet cleaner, and a shopkeeper living in the area.

She also specifically mentioned that although the cleaners live in different buildings, they also clean the related toilets.

Zhang also pointed out that there are also 4 buildings that announced yesterday that they will be subject to mandatory testing, including Kingway Plaza, 98 Parkes Street, 45A-59 Reclamation Street, Block B, Uni-President Building, 111 Shanghai Street, and Jinbao Building on Wusong Street.

She said that the information released now is preliminary and will be confirmed after implementation.

According to the information compiled by Yau Tsim Mong District Councillors, a total of 32 buildings in the "Temple Street Epidemic Area" require mandatory testing.

Zhang Zhujun continued that two new buildings in Hong Kong were subject to mandatory testing today, including two Lido Gardens in Sham Tseng. Two people were diagnosed in each of the two units; there were also two on Tai Building, 62-73 Winslow Street, Hung Hom. Two units were diagnosed, 3 people and 1 person were diagnosed.

Zhang also revealed that the two units diagnosed in Lido Garden, Sham Tseng, are on the same floor. They may be neighbors who do not know each other and may be infected by public facilities. The confirmed units in On Tai Building in Hung Hom are separated by multiple floors but in the same orientation.

Zhang explained that because he hopes to announce the list of buildings subject to mandatory testing as soon as possible, the buildings that were announced tomorrow will also be included in the announcement list today. Therefore, a total of 6 buildings are listed for mandatory testing today.

If the 4 buildings announced earlier are included, there are 10 buildings in total.

Two units at On Tai Building, 62-73 Winslow Street, Hung Hom, were also diagnosed with 3 persons and 1 person respectively.
