There was a serious accident with three trucks on Wednesday afternoon on the A9.
A rescue helicopter is in action.
Update Wednesday, November 16: the fire brigade can cut drivers out of trucks after one and a half hours
As reported by the Freising traffic police, there was a serious rear-end collision with three articulated lorries on the A9 towards Nuremberg about 2.5 kilometers after the Allershausen junction.
Because of previous traffic jams, a 60-year-old professional driver from Austria had to brake his 40-tonne car transporter loaded with two trucks in the right lane.
A 54-year-old professional driver from Ukraine realized this too late and drove up.
A subsequent third truck, driven by a 66-year-old German professional driver, also drove up.
The Ukrainian was trapped and could only be cut out by the fire brigade after about an hour and a half.
He was flown with the rescue helicopter to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
According to initial information, the other two truck drivers were uninjured.
All three lanes are fully closed - traffic jams up to Neufahrner Kreuz
All three lanes had to be completely closed to record the accident and land the rescue helicopter.
Around 3:30 p.m., at least the left lane could be released again.
The congestion reached back 15 kilometers to the Neufahrner Kreuz for a short time.
A large-scale diversion has been set up.
Because all three articulated lorries have to be towed, the police do not expect the accident site to be released before 5 p.m.
After 40 liters of engine oil had also leaked, the water management office had to be consulted because of a possible environmental hazard.
According to initial estimates, the total damage amounts to at least 150,000 euros, the police continued.
In addition to a large number of the surrounding fire brigades, the THW, the Munich North motorway maintenance facility, the rescue service including helicopters and four strips of the VPI Freising were on site.
