The sit-ins and rallies renewed in a number of Lebanese cities and regions in protest against the difficult living conditions in the country.
Tripoli, northern Lebanon, witnessed sit-ins and protests, as a number of protesters cut off the two lanes of the Tripoli-Beirut highway with stones and obstacles, prompting the security forces to divert traffic towards the sea route, as others cut off Abdul Hamid Karami Roundabout in protest of the high price and living conditions, confirming that they will escalate their movements.
The Traffic Control Room stated that roads around Al Nour Square in Tripoli were also blocked, while the Lebanese security forces worked to divert traffic in other directions.
In Sidon and the surrounding areas, sit-ins and rallies were organized calling for improving the living situation and providing aid to the needy, especially in light of the total closure in Lebanon due to Corona.
Since October 17, 2019, many Lebanese regions have witnessed demonstrations and sit-ins to protest against the deteriorating living and economic conditions.
