Britain announced today the registration of 20089 new cases of the emerging coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections across the country to 3 million and 689746 cases, at a time when the government is seeking to speed up the vaccination for citizens.
Reuters quoted the health authorities in Britain as saying that the total deaths in the country reached 100,162 after the announcement of 1631 new deaths during the past twenty-four hours.
Britain, which ranks fifth in the list of countries affected by the new Corona virus, re-entered a national lockdown on January 5, which includes the closure of bars, restaurants, non-essential stores and schools for most students, and more travel restrictions have been introduced.
In December 2020, Britain became the first country in the world to approve the "Covid 19" vaccine produced by Pfizer, and it set itself the task of providing the vaccine to everyone aged 70 years and over who are clinically at risk, health and social care workers on the front lines and the elderly in Care homes by mid-February.
As of yesterday, 6,853,327 people had received the first dose of the vaccine and 472446 people had received the second dose.
