Cristiano Ronaldo and 7 of his historic achievements 1:00
(CNN Spanish) -
Cristiano Ronaldo's double in the victory this Tuesday, in the Coppa Italia clash between Juventus and Inter Milan, places the Portuguese at the top of the all-time scorers table ... or not?
As a visitor, Vecchia Signora defeated Inter 2-1 in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinals.
The second leg will be played on February 9 in Turin, Italy.
At 35, the Portuguese already registers 763 official goals as a professional player.
Media such as Marca.com claim that the Juve striker has just surpassed Pelé and the Czech-Austrian Josef Bican by a goal in the all-time scorers' classification, but there is great controversy regarding the figures.
For example, the Football and Sports Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) ranks Bican as the top scorer in history with more than 805 verified goals.
However, that account specifies that some of those goals were scored in amateur games, reserve games or clashes of teams that are not official.
Adjusting the Bican account according to various reports, the Czech-Austrian would have a total of 759 official goals.
The best goalscorer in football history?
🤔
The History and Statistics committee of the Czech FA counted all the goals scored by the legendary Josef Bican and we can declare he scored 821 goals in official matches.

However, FIFA recognizes Bican, who passed away in 2001, 805 career goals.
In the RSSSF ranking, Brazilian Romario appears second with 772 and Pelé is in third place with 767. If we are guided by these numbers, Cristiano Ronaldo still has four goals to go to catch up with “O Rei”.
Another source, the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), gives Pelé first place with the aforementioned 767, escorted by Cristiano Ronaldo.
There is an abysmal difference between modern football and contemporary football with Pele or Bican.
Perhaps the different statistical agencies will never agree on the scoring count of each player, but if there is something clear it is that both Ronaldo, Pelé or Bican, are immortal legends for the beautiful game.
