2021-02-27T11:52:19.024Z

Miami inflicted a rare loss this season on Utah, best team in the NBA, by winning (124-116) on Friday, while the Lakers ended against Portland (102-93) with a worrying streak of four losses.

The Miami Heat is doing the show.

Against the Jazz, who had won 12 of their previous 13 matches, he went on to win a fifth consecutive victory, under the leadership of Jimmy Butler, author of 33 points, a new personal best this season.

The Florida franchise thus confirms its status as a headhunter in the NBA, after its victories last week over Toronto, champion 2019, and the Lakers, defending champions.

“It's still too early to say we're good,” Butler said.

“There is still so much we need to work on to be better.

Myself, anyone, I don't want us to be complacent and think that everything is fine. ”

In addition to his 33 points, Butler also caught ten rebounds and delivered eight assists.

Goran Dragic scored 26 points and pivot Bam Adebayo largely contributed to the victory with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists.

On the Jazz side, Donovan Mitchell scored 30 points, Bojan Bogdanovic 17 and Rudy Gobert 15 points, supplemented by 12 rebounds.

But their lack of success on shots, especially in the last eight minutes (3 of 16) was fatal to them.

"We simply made too many mistakes and we were too clumsy in defense as in attack (...) There are many things that can be improved," said Jazz coach Quin Snyder, whose The team has recorded 26 victories for 7 defeats.

The Schröder spark

In Tampa, Florida, where Toronto plays its home games due to coronavirus health restrictions, the Raptors beat the Houston Rockets (122-111) thanks to a triple double from Kyle Lowry (20 pts, 11 rebounds, 10 passes).

But Toronto played this game without six members of its management, including head coach Nick Nurse, and without its star player Pascal Siakam, due to security protocols related to Covid-19.

The precise reasons for this absence have not been communicated.

The Rockets have recorded their tenth loss in a row and point to penultimate place in the West.

In Los Angeles, the Lakers, still deprived of Anthony Davis, reassured themselves with a convincing victory against Portland (102-93).

LeBron James scored 28 points and picked up eleven rebounds, but it was Germany's Dennis Schröder, who had been unable to play his team's last four games due to the health protocol put in place by the NBA, which was decisive.

He scored 22 points, including 13 after the break, and disgusted with his defense the Trail Blazers during the third quarter, won 31-19 by the Californians.

“His energy has given us a new spark.

Having him with us again really made a difference, ”King James said of Schröder.

After this 23rd victory, for 11 defeats, the Lakers are 3rd in the Western Conference, behind Utah (1st) and the Clippers (2nd).
