"We are worried": cases of Covid-19 are increasing in schools in Val-d'Oise

2021-03-18T19:11:32.502Z

In Parmain, one establishment is completely deprived of teachers. In Pontoise, a cluster has declared itself at the Jean-Moulin school. If the progress

Schools without teachers, others where parents' representatives organize awareness campaigns in front of the establishment, in order to encourage families to have their children tested.

The alarming progression of the epidemic in the department affects many schools.

And it is at the origin of ubiquitous situations.

The children of the Maurice-Genevoix nursery school in Parmain, for some, continue to go to school but… not to class.

Since the start of the week, the entire teaching staff of the establishment as well as the Atsem have been placed in solitary confinement.

At least two cases of Covid-19 have been identified, all the others being contact cases.

It is therefore impossible for the establishment, which has 134 students, to continue to operate.

Parents asked to look after their children in Parmain

"The National Education told us that we had to leave the school open, we are a bit hostage," says the mayor of the town, Loïc Taillanter (SE), a little surprised.

In the absence of teachers, parents were asked to look after their children if they could.

“Fortunately, they did, for the most part.

Because of the Covid-19, the mayor of Gonesse is closing three schools and a canteen

Still, about twenty students still come, for lack of a solution.

“As the school is not closed, we cannot give an employer certificate, this probably increases the number of children present,” suspects the mayor.

The municipality employs three animators to take care of the children.

Suffice to say that, under these conditions, it is impossible to apply the measures of "non-mixing of groups", provided for in the health protocol of the National Education.

Nine positive adults at Jean-Moulin de Pontoise

At the Jean-Moulin de Pontoise school, there are still a few teachers, but they are few in number.

At the beginning of the week, the parents of students learned, by posting, that four teachers were absent, without further details.

An omission that makes them angry today because it is indeed the Covid-19 that was at the origin of this situation and it has only made progress since then.

This Thursday, we were talking about nine positive adults in this establishment of seven classes.

"We are warned immediately when there are lice or cases of chickenpox but, for Covid-19, we are not told anything!

», Plague a dad, elected to the school council.

“Parents don't understand why they weren't informed right away.

We are concerned, for the teachers first and for the whole school.

"

Incentive to screening

Not getting any satisfactory answer from the National Education, the representatives decided to inform the families themselves via an email and directly on site, this Friday morning, in order to encourage everyone to go for track down.

The same day, a sign at the entrance of the establishment finally announced to parents the presence of the virus at school.

Far too late, for some.

In Butry, the mayor decides to close kindergarten

Elsewhere, it is sometimes the cases of Covid-19 declared among municipal staff that complicate school life.

In the town of Butry-sur-Oise, the mayor has decided to close the town's kindergarten from this Thursday until March 23, too many agents, and in particular Atsem, being positive or contact cases.

“It's a difficult decision, but I don't regret it,” said the mayor (SE), Claude Noël.

“The parents understood, we couldn't help it.

The safety of children, teachers and staff must come first.

Covid-19: a cluster at Sannois high school

In Sannois, where several classes have been closed because of positive cases, the situation is also tense for municipal officers working in schools.

The municipality has warned the parents that it may have to take measures in the coming days.

For lack of personnel, access to the canteen could thus be restricted, as had already been done in November.

Recall that in Gonesse, the mayor has also just made the decision to close three schools, because of the acceleration of the transmission of the virus.
