Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed his country's rejection of the claims of French President Emmanuel Macron that Russia, like China, is waging a "vaccine war" against Corona, stressing that Moscow and Beijing do not launch any wars and do not use the epidemic as a tool for influence.
Peskov said in statements to reporters, reported by the Russian magazine Rasskaya Gazeta, that Macron’s statements “probably belong to the sphere of absolute differences between Russia and France.” Corona and vaccine issues as a tool to influence ”.
Peskov pointed out that Russia is a responsible member of the international community and the level of its responsibility appears better in such difficult days and years of the epidemic, as Moscow is working to increase the pace of vaccine production in order to complete the vaccination of its citizens and at the same time do everything possible to respond to the ever-increasing international demand in the future. Perspective, stressing that Russia has no aspirations to politicize vaccines, and it will never do so.
Earlier, Macron claimed that Europe is facing a new type of global war linked to vaccination against Corona, due to the desire of Russia and China to spread influence through vaccines.
Last Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin played down the impact of the West's attempts to abuse Russian vaccines against the Corona virus, criticizing European officials' statements about their lack of need for the "Sputnik" vaccine, questioning what interests these people defend and whether they are related to pharmaceutical companies or the interests of European citizens.
