The signatories of the letter stated that due to the devastating consequences of the terrorist war imposed on Syria ten years ago and continuing to this day in addition to the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed by the European Union and the United States on Syria, this has negatively and directly affected the daily life of Syrians who have become unable to secure The minimum basic requirements for daily life such as food, medicine and medicine, especially in light of the difficult health conditions resulting from the outbreak of the Corona epidemic.
The signatories of the letter called on the leaders of the European Union countries to retreat from the policy of illegal sanctions and to lift these coercive economic measures for humanitarian reasons, because their continuation would cause a great humanitarian disaster in Syria.
