"

Two other sentences concerning him were also carried out, bringing his sentence to 29 months in prison

," said the prosecutor of the Republic of Évreux Dominique Puechmaille to an AFP correspondent.

The defendant was sentenced for "

violence against a person holding public authority

" in an immediate appearance before the criminal court of Évreux.

Four police officers "

were injured

" including two with ITT (temporary incapacity for work) "

during the arrests but not during the urban violence itself

", also indicated the magistrate.

Dominique Puechmaille also confirmed information from Unsa police according to which one of the two police officers had 21 days of ITT.

Three minors are also summoned before the children's judge, according to the prosecution.

Two other minors, including a 12-year-old, "

were released without prosecution because there were not enough facts to blame them

", according to the magistrate.

Mayor LR of Évreux Guy Lefrand "

called

" on Wednesday the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin to grant the city "

means that we have been demanding for a long time

".

This new outbreak of violence required a strong response from the justice system, but it also calls for other responses.

Which can only take the form of additional human resources granted to the national police of our city

”, specifies the elected official in his press release.

On Sunday the Minister of the Interior had promised the assignment in 2021 of “

five additional police officers

” including “

three from next May

” in Évreux, as part of the plan to create 10,000 police and gendarmerie posts on the five year term.

But the mayor of Évreux underlines that "

16 additional posts were granted very recently to the police station of Vernon but only five will come to reinforce the police force of Évreux

".

For Guy Lefrand, it is a question of "

putting an end to the drug trafficking which is at the origin of the urban violence of the weekend

".

The Unsa Police stressed on Sunday that it would remain "

vigilant as to the real human resources deployed

".
