Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed today that the United States is creating "false news and myths" regarding the conditions of detention of Russian activist Alexei Navalny while it itself violates the rights of prisoners.
"We raise the issue of releasing all unjustly convicted or detained Russian citizens, and we are discussing the issue of their return to their homeland for humanitarian reasons before the American side, and we do so continuously at various levels," Zakharova said in a press conference, according to Sputnik.
"Washington is fabricating myths and lies about the conditions of detention of Russian prisoners, in particular the opposition Navalny," Zakharova added.
