The Ismaning municipality now wants to make reusable tableware more palatable to restaurateurs with a financial incentive.

In the existential crisis, many companies need the business of picking up food in order to cover at least part of the costs and thus to be able to survive.
But here, too, something can be done for the environment.
The municipality of Ismaning is now offering its restaurateurs start-up financing of 500 euros for the purchase of reusable tableware.
The Bavarian-wide business with pick-up meals means that significantly more plastic waste is produced with the styrofoam packaging.
This topic is given additional dynamism by the legal change that companies with more than 80 square meters must offer a reusable solution.
In Ismaning, an application by the Greens has been on the table since last year to introduce the “Ismaning Cup” and thus curb the vast number of disposable cups.
The administration has already looked at the corresponding systems in Munich, Dachau or Günzburg for this purpose.
Mayor Alexander Greulich (SPD) reported to the local council about thoughts on the really big success: "A reusable system with our beautiful Ismaning logo would mean too much effort." That is why the idea was then rejected again.
In addition, the community does not want to prescribe a specific reusable system for local restaurateurs.
But you can at least go for an incentive.

This is exactly what you can achieve with the € 500 start-up financing.
The administration will now contact the restaurateurs and make the offer.

The Greens are enthusiastic about the Ismaning regulation.
The reusable cups for coffee are also part of the promotion, which goes well beyond the application.
Councilor Irene Holler now hopes that many will also participate: “We are pleased that, on our initiative, the municipality is taking an important step in the fight against plastic waste.
Reusable tableware is practical and sustainable, ”she emphasizes.
Especially in the past year, due to the Covid 19 pandemic and the take-away offers, the waste of disposable packaging increased again significantly.
"We hope," says Holler, "that many Ismaning restaurateurs will take part in this great campaign."
