The FEHD said earlier that it had received related complaints and sent staff to the restaurant involved to investigate and take food samples for inspection. It also stated that the premises were satisfactory and no rat traces were found.

The department responded to enquiries today, stating that the food sample has been sent to the Pest Control Advisory Group for inspection. The test results showed that the foreign body found in the food sample belonged to part of the head of the murine family.

The Department will continue to follow up the relevant case. If there is sufficient evidence to prove that the restaurant violated the relevant health regulations, it will consider prosecuting the relevant person.
