Hundreds of people demonstrated tonight (Saturday) in Umm al-Fahm, following a protest by East Jerusalem Arabs in the capital from last week.
A demonstration is also expected to take place in Taibeh.
According to the activists, the protest is being carried out against the background of police violence in Jerusalem and violence by far-right activists against Arabs.
Police are preparing to maintain order.
One of the demonstrators, a resident of the city of Yanel Jabarin, said that "the stairs at the Nablus Gate in Jerusalem should return to their natural state. We are showing solidarity with the Arabs in Jerusalem against the background of the violence against them by the police."
At the same time, a Jewish-Arab demonstration is expected in Zion Square in Jerusalem, against "violence and incitement against the Arab population and peace activists, by activists of the Lehavah organization and members of the far right." According to the organizers of this protest, The fruit of Jerusalem, and a host of other organizations and activists, the outbreak of violence in recent days comes against the backdrop of "organized and orchestrated events aimed at agitating the area, harming Arabs and in this way the whole fabric of life in the city.

The demonstration tonight in Umm al-Fahm is a continuation of the tension that has prevailed in the capital over the past week, which includes violent clashes between the Arabs of East Jerusalem and the Jews.
The ongoing unrest comes amid fears that Israel will not approve the planned Palestinian parliamentary elections in the eastern part of the city.
Also this morning, national and Islamic elements in the West Bank announced marches in support of Jerusalem and al-Aqsa, which are expected to take place in the evening in Jenin, Ramallah, Hebron and Nablus.
This, following the escalation in the south and the firing of dozens of rockets during the night from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory.
