We are in the midst of the transition season from winter clothes to summer and many of us are storing the blankets upside down - until next winter.

But a moment before - maybe you should know how much dirt accumulates in the blanket you went through all the cold days with.

This is what happened to one woman who was left stunned after cleaning her husband's sweaty duvet and seeing the amount of dirt and grime that came out of her.

Vicki Daniels explained that her husband sweats so much that the washing machine fails to clean the blanket properly.

To clean it she soaked the blanket for several hours, and the results were appalling.

Vicki usually shares do-it-yourself chores and recipes at Tiktok where she is known as @danielsclan, but upside-down blanket cleaning made her a viral hit and the talk of the day.

In the video, which has already been viewed about 5 million times, Vicki is seen filling a bathtub with detergents, including fabric softener.

Within a few seconds after inserting the blanket, the water begins to change color.

She puts it all into the water, and lets it soak in them for hours.

When she returns, she finds murky water, full of dirt and brown paint.

In a follow-up video, she puts the blanket back in the bath soaking.

After another long soak - in which she waited until she saw that the water coming out of it was clean, she drained it in the shower and put it in the tumble dryer - before finally returning it to her husband.

Vicki's cleaning method caused people to be shocked by what was before and what was left after.

"The blanket weighs 8 pounds less," one respondent laughed and Shani added, "Thank you for doing that, the blanket needed it."

Tuesday jokingly added that: "You washed all the memories," and another respondent pointed out that the blanket looked in a completely different color than it was before.
