Despair and anguish at the prospect of finding a son, a husband, on the list of the deceased.

After hearing the news of the collapse of a car on line 12 of the Mexico City subway, dozens of relatives have approached the scene of the incident to scratch any information on the whereabouts of their relatives.

Others go to the dozen hospitals where the victims have been transferred.

There are at least 23 dead and more than 70 injured.

Marisol Tapia, 28, is looking for her son, Brandon Geovanni Tapia, 13, and her husband, Rigoberto Quiroz García, 28. She had spoken with them five minutes before the accident and they told her that they were already in Periférico on their way to home.

“As soon as I turned on the TV, the tragedy had already happened.

I came as soon as I saw it.

I dialed, but neither of them answered me, ”he says between sobs.

She and her mother are about 50 meters from the Olivos Station where the accident occurred.

A police filter prevents them from getting any closer.

And nobody tells them anything.

Brandon wore black pants with white stripes, black sweatshirt, black backpack.

He also has a mole on his waist, on the left side, says the mother.

She can't think of any sign that identifies her husband, but she shows a photograph from her cell phone.

He wears a white shirt and, under the mask, you can see a smile.

At the gates of the Belisario Roldán hospital, relatives of the injured wait for the health authorities to come out to shout the updates of the list with the names of those who are treated there. They do it every 15 minutes. The father of Imer del Aguila, a 29-year-old man who was returning from work, nervously waits to hear the name of his son among those treated. “We saw the accident and we called him. One person responded, but did not know where they had taken him, ”he says. The family has divided into several hospitals without success. "We did not expect something like this to happen, we are desperate." Valentina is also waiting for news about her boyfriend, Daniel Hernández, 27, who was returning from working on the subway.

"I left him at the station to take the subway back home and then this happened, I feel a little guilty," says Valentina's father, while they wait for someone at the hospital to tell them how he is.

By a call to Locatel they were able to know in which hospital he was admitted and that he had suffered an abdominal fracture.

At the door of the place they do not say anything else.

The Mexico City prosecutor, Ernestina Godoy, arrived after one in the morning.

Without making any statements, he entered the center while relatives of those affected shouted: "Let them give us reports, they are our relatives!"
