Berlin - Today, Thursday (May 6th, 2021) the time has come: The Bundestag will decide on relaxations for people who have been completely vaccinated against the coronavirus and those who have recovered.

Around 12 p.m., the members of the Bundestag will meet in Berlin and will decide whether contact restrictions and curfews for these people will no longer apply or will remain in place.

After several federal states, including Hesse, single-handedly * announced the equation of fully vaccinated people and those who had recovered from an illness with the coronavirus last week, the Corona cabinet around Chancellor Angela Merkel * and Minister of Health Jens Spahn * ( Both CDU *) pronounced on Monday for nationwide easing.

Relaxation for vaccinated and convalescent people: Today the Bundestag will make the decision

If the proposal put to the vote by the cabinet is accepted and passes the last hurdle of the Bundestag on Friday, there will be far-reaching easing for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered after the signing by the Federal President.

In many areas, such as shopping or visiting the hairdresser, these groups of people should be put on an equal footing with people who tested negative.

A person counts as fully vaccinated if 14 days have passed after receiving the full vaccination strength, for most vaccines * such as Biontech / Pfizer * and Astrazeneca * after the second vaccination.

Specifically, this means that those who have recovered and who have been vaccinated no longer have to show a negative corona test.

The curfew, which is in effect from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. in areas with an incidence of over 100 and only allows people to leave the house in exceptional cases, does not apply to these people.

Contact restrictions and curfews: Relaxation makes meetings possible again

The applicable rules for contact restriction * also do not apply to vaccinated and recovered people. You can meet with as many vaccinated and recovered people as you want. When calculating a normal meeting, for example if only two households are allowed, they are also excluded. Another advantage is that you do not have to be quarantined after traveling, provided you do not come from a virus variant area such as India *. However, the obligation to wear mouth and nose protection in certain places as well as the distance requirement still apply to them.

If everything goes according to plan, these new rules could apply from Sunday.

Incidentally, the Bundestag also wants to change the Infection Protection Act accordingly: Pharmacists should also be allowed to make additions to vaccination records, previously only doctors were allowed to do this.
