Opens again: Europe has added Israel to the list of green countries
The European Union has added Israel to its eight-member list.
The decision was based on the relatively low morbidity data, and on the success of the vaccination campaign.
Foreign Minister Ashkenazi said that the move came, among other things, following a diplomatic effort by the Foreign Ministry: "The decision paves the way for a gradual return to routine."

The European Union today (Thursday) added Israel to the list of eight green countries.
According to the EU decision, the member states of the EU can allow the entry of Israeli citizens into their territory.
The decision is based on the low morbidity data and the high immunization rate among the Israeli population.
The decision is a significant step on the way for Israelis to enter EU countries.
Israel is the only country to be added to the green list since January 2021.
So far on the list were: Australia, New Zealand, Rwanda, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and China only.
It should be noted that although this is a unification decision that does not bind the member states, it paves the way for the member states of the European Union to approve the entry of Israeli citizens, unilaterally or in a reciprocal agreement with Israel.
In addition, the recommendation does not eliminate the individual guidelines for entering any country concerning the corona virus - including entering isolation, conducting a system of tests, and the like.
