They report that there is an arrest warrant against the rocker Marilyn Manson

2021-05-27T08:29:02.213Z

A cameraman alleges that the 52-year-old artist spat on him during a 2019 concert. "It's no secret that Marilyn Manson likes to be provocative on stage, especially in front of a camera," his lawyer defends. The rocker has also been accused of sexual abuse by more than a dozen women.

New Hampshire police said Tuesday they have a warrant for the arrest of rock star Marilyn Manson for misdemeanors stemming from the alleged assault on a cameraman during a concert on August 18, 2019.

The Gilford Police Department made the announcement in a Facebook post this week: It said Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, faces two Class A misdemeanor charges related to the incident at the Bank of New Hampshire entertainment venue. Pavilion.

This type of misdemeanor can carry a possible sentence of less than

a year in jail and a fine of $ 2,000 or less in that state.

The police did not specify what type of aggression it is, but several media have reported that it has to do with the complaint of a cameraman who said he had been spat on by the singer during the 2019 concert.

Entertainment news site TMZ said it obtained a video showing Manson sticking his face directly into the lens of a camera filming him during that show and spitting in front of the screen.

Howard King, an attorney for the 52-year-old musician, told The New York Times that "it is no secret to anyone who has attended a Marilyn Manson concert that he likes to be provocative on stage, especially in front of a camera."

The lawyer added that the cameraman's assault complaint was made after he

sued the singer for "more than $ 35,000

after a small amount of saliva came into contact with his arm."

And he assured that the cameraman could not provide "evidence of the alleged damages."

Police said Tuesday that the cameraman, who was subcontracted by a New Hampshire company to record the concert, was in an area near the stage when the alleged attack occurred.

New Hampshire authorities found probable cause behind the complaint against the singer, and issued the arrest warrant on October 8, 2019.

"Mr. Warner, his agent and legal counsel have been aware of the warrant for some time and have made no effort to return to New Hampshire to answer the pending charges," police said.

Manson has been accused of sexual and emotional abuse by more than a dozen women, but has not been charged with any crime related to those alleged incidents.

Among those who point it out are his ex-girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood and actress Esmé Bianco.

In February, his record company decided to end ties with the musician and not promote his eleventh studio album, 'We Are Chaos', after Wood publicly flagged him for sexual and emotional abuse during their time together.

She is the star of the HBO series 'Westworld'.

Manson responded shortly after to the accusations on Instagram, calling them "horrible distortions of reality" and saying that the experiences he has had with his partners have always been "consensual."

"My art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality.

My intimate relationships have always been completely consensual

. Regardless of how and why others now choose to misrepresent the past, that's the truth, "he wrote.

It is not the first time that Manson has been charged with alleged aggressive conduct.

In 2018, Los Angeles County prosecutors declined to press charges against him for physical and sexual assault charges dating back to 2011, citing a lack of evidence.

Manson has sold tens of millions of records after achieving commercial success in the late 1990s.
