On the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, many newspapers in Hong Kong appeared on the front pages of advertisements "Warmly Celebrate the Centenary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China and the 24th Anniversary of the Founding of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region". I wish the Communist Party of China and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region a happy birthday. There is the regional emblem of the special zone on the top.

A government spokesperson replied to enquiries that the SAR government spent a total of $2.7 million on "advertising" in 12 Chinese and English newspapers in Hong Kong today, which means that each newspaper spent an average of $225,000 in public funds.

Newspapers that publish newspaper advertisements today include Ta Kung Pao, Wen Wei Po, Oriental Daily, Sing Tao Daily, and Hong Kong Economic Journal, all of which published the same advertisement on the front page.

As for the South China Morning Post, the English version of the same paragraph was published on the inside page, and the front page was a congratulatory advertisement from commercial organizations.

The content of the advertisement stated that Hong Kong's smooth return to the motherland was an integral part of the Chinese Communist Party's centuries-old cause; "One Country, Two Systems" is one of the Communist Party's institutional advantages.

The advertisement emphasizes that the central government has always cared about the Hong Kong compatriots and supported the development of Hong Kong in many ways to ensure the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong. At the end, it wishes the Communist Party of China and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region a happy birthday.

On March 31 this year, on the day after the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress passed amendments to Annexes 1 and 2 of the Basic Law to "improve the electoral system," the Hong Kong government spent 2.8 million yuan to publish front-page advertisements in 15 newspapers.

In fact, this is not the first time that the Hong Kong Government has purchased front-page advertisements in newspapers.

On March 30 this year, the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress passed amendments to Annexes 1 and 2 of the Basic Law to "improve the electoral system." The government will go all out to promote local election laws in accordance with the newly revised Annexes I and II, and point out that it will do a good job in public commentary and other work.

The advertising expenditure was 2.8 million yuan.
