The local doctors' association had recently stated that the health system on Java was completely overloaded and that patients had to be turned away in the meantime.


In the fourth most populous country on earth with 270 million inhabitants, almost 2.2 million corona cases have been confirmed so far. More than 58,000 people have died in connection with Covid-19.
