Prisoners against a card: Russian mediators persuaded Azerbaijan to release 15 Armenian prisoners of war.
In return, they were given a map of mines in formerly Armenian-controlled areas.
Yerevan / Baku - More than six months after the end of the fighting over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict region in the South Caucasus, Azerbaijan has released another 15 Armenian prisoners of war.
The Armenian government announced that the men returned to Armenia under Russian mediation.
In return, the Azerbaijani side was given a map showing mines in areas previously controlled by Armenians.
A corresponding exchange had already taken place in mid-June.
In the war between September 27 and November 9 for Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan reclaimed large parts of the territory it had lost in the early 1990s.
More than 6,500 people died in the fighting.
After the fighting ended, Armenia repeatedly accused its hostile neighboring country of not having released all prisoners of war.
Azerbaijan, on the other hand, said it had fulfilled its commitments.
