The health measures announced by Emmanuel Macron last night during his televised address convinced the French.
While some elected officials from La France Insoumise or the National Rassemblement have widely criticized the decisions taken by the Head of State, these seem to be fairly well accepted by public opinion.
According to an Odoxa-Backbone Consulting poll for
Le Figaro
, more than two-thirds of French people (67%) support the four main binding measures announced last night.

Three quarters of French people (75%) support, for example, compulsory vaccination for staff in health establishments and six out of ten approve the extension of the compulsory health pass (61%) and the fact that PCR tests without a medical prescription are charged. (59%).
In addition, a majority of respondents also believe that these measures are effective in terms of health (62%) without being too restrictive (52%).

Pension reform: a source of discontent for the French
Despite this approval of the health measures announced by the president, 65% of French people were unhappy to learn that the President of the Republic had not given up on pension reform.
Apart from LREM sympathizers (75% membership), those of all other political parties, including those of LR, disagree with Emmanuel Macron on this subject.
The Head of State's speech as a whole therefore did not meet with the support of a majority of French people: only 46% of them found it "
convincing
". Moreover, if they believe that the President of the Republic has shown clarity in his announcements (69%), only 49% consider that he has “
understood their concerns
”.
