District - Since July 2020, the self-employed, businesses and institutions in the Miesbach district affected by the Corona crisis have received grants of over 76 million euros.

This is evident from the figures published by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Munich and Upper Bavaria.

The total includes the aid programs Bridging Aid I to III, Restart Aid, and November and December Aid.

A total of more than 3000 applications have been approved so far.

The average payout per application in the Miesbach district was around 25,000 euros.

"The burden of the corona pandemic on the economy is considerable and the aid paid out only covers part of the costs and losses caused by the pandemic, despite the fact that it is millions," says Anja Frank, Chair of the IHK regional committee in Miesbach.

While most businesses are starting up again, sectors that are important for the district, such as event management and gastronomy, as well as their service providers and suppliers, are still being affected by closings and restrictions.

"You still need support."

The extension of the bridging aid III plus and the restart aid plus until the end of September is therefore an important signal to the companies to persevere. The federal government must now provide the necessary application and processing platforms as quickly as possible. "So that this money arrives quickly and helps these companies to bridge the continuing drought."

In the Free State, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Munich and Upper Bavaria handles economic aid on behalf of the state government.

Around 47 percent of the funds approved went to applicants from the hospitality industry across Bavaria, i.e. hotels, restaurants, discos, bars and catering companies.

Art, entertainment and recreation, which includes museums, concert promoters and fitness studios, follow with a share of around twelve percent.

A further twelve percent of the Corona aid received retail and wholesale businesses.

In total, the Munich Chamber of Industry and Commerce has paid out 6.2 billion euros in economic aid across Bavaria.

In addition, there is 2.2 billion euros from the immediate aid paid out by the district governments of the Free State at the beginning of the Corona crisis to companies and the self-employed.

Applications for bridging assistance III and restart assistance as well as extensions can be made at least until October 31st.
