- The production of organic products from Bavaria is to be doubled in the medium term - that is a declaration of intent by the Bavarian state government. The aim is to meet the increasing demand for organic food in the future to a greater extent from domestic, regional production. The state program “BioRegio Bayern 2030” was therefore launched back in 2012, a program that provides for measures in the areas of education, advice, funding, marketing and research.
This resulted in state-recognized eco-model regions, on the basis of which the Bavarian State Government wants to advance the production of local food and the awareness of regional identity. The eco-model region Kulturraum Ampertal has been in this boat since May 2, 2019, was able to prevail in a competition and convince with its concepts of how it would like to give future-oriented impulses to the production and sale of local food in the region.
The initially approved two-year funding has now expired, but can be extended for a further three years. And as became clear in the two municipal council meetings in Kirchdorf and Allershausen, the two municipalities would like to remain part of the eco-model region. "Perhaps with the support of the eco-model region we can now achieve what we tried 20 years ago."
The costs
The position of the project manager is assigned to the implementation support of the culture area Ampertal.
All twelve member communities have to share a contribution totaling 35,000 euros.
The allocation takes place according to the population of the municipality.
Allershausen bears around 4500 euros of the costs each year, Kirchdorf is on board with almost 2500 euros.
