Civil Defense teams and the Lebanese army continue their efforts to control and put out fires in a number of Lebanese areas, amid the calls of the people who started approaching their homes.
The Lebanese National News Agency stated that the fires continued throughout the night in the forests of Qobayat, Anadaq, Kfarton, Akrom, Al-Rawaima and the mountain villages in the Beit Jaafar area, where the fires consumed more forest lands and orchards, leaving losses that cannot be determined or estimated now.
The agency pointed out that the civil defense teams, the Lebanese army, volunteers and the people have been continuing their efforts since yesterday evening to put out the fires in rugged and difficult sites, especially in the areas of Andakt, Akrom and Beit Jaafar in Akkar, northern Lebanon.
The agency indicated that a Syrian helicopter participated in the process of extinguishing the fire at the joint Lebanese-Syrian border in Akrom and Wakom, and that the Syrian Civil Defense intervened with its mechanisms in this area to put out the fire.
