The Church of Our Lady of Peace in Bustan Al-Diwan neighborhood in Homs hosted a cultural days event entitled “Nafhat from Homs”, which included an art exhibition with the participation of a number of artists from Homs and the rest of the provinces, cultural seminars and a workshop to teach painting with dirt.

The event, which was organized by the Ornina Forum for Culture and Arts in Homs, aims, according to Raymond Kabrun, the forum’s director, to remind the whole world of the emperors, artists, engineers, doctors, lawyers, poets and intellectuals who became a global and human condition that entered history, such as “Julian Al-Homsi, Caracalla, Julia Domna, Abdul Hamid Al-Zahrawi, and Dick Al-Jin.” “Through a group of artists and researchers who loved this city and wanted to consolidate its civilization and heritage through these cultural days.

The plastic artist, Farid Wassouf, the organizer of the exhibition, said that 23 artists from Homs and several governorates participated in 46 different paintings between oil, acrylic and watercolor, depicting topics that bring together the spirit of Homs and its ancient landmarks, indicating that the exhibition will continue for a week in the same place.

Plastic artist Maysoon Khaddour participated in several oil-on-canvas works that reflected a realistic picture of the old neighborhoods of Homs and part of Al-Zahrawi Palace, using the true colors of the place.

In turn, the artist Rami Darwish participated in a painting about Homs, in which he used acrylic colors, representing an old arch in the Al-Adawiya neighborhood and the castle of the Hosn in Homs.

The plastic artist Ahmed Al-Ali presented three paintings representing the countryside of Homs “the village of Tel Shanan” and the city of Homs, in which he used earthy colors to confirm the idea that the image preserves the place in the memory even if it changes.

As for the plastic artist, Heba Al-Mahmoud, she participated in an oil painting that expresses the old neighborhood of “Sibat Al-Droubi” in the Bab Al-Dreeb area of ​​old Homs.

The exhibition included a workshop to teach children to paint with dirt, organized by plastic artist Julia Said.

The conclusion of the activities of the cultural days was through two seminars, one of which was by Dr. Eng. Abdul Masih Al-Ashi on the architecture of heritage buildings in Syria and the architectural arts used by the architects in Homs, and another by Dr. Ali Saqr Ahmed about Homs throughout history and its emergence and its historical, cultural, architectural and historical role, including the Kingdom of Qatana as a model and the Kingdom of Palmyra and its historical role and humane.
