The national government and that of the city announced this Monday a
relaxation of the capacity in public transport
arranged by the coronavirus, which will affect
buses, trains and subways
.
It will go into effect this
Tuesday, August 10.
From the Ministry of Transportation of the Nation, it was confirmed that the quota will be expanded in those areas that are not considered high risk, in line with the recent presidential decree.
In any case, they call for the use of "alternative means of personal mobility whenever possible" to avoid crowds.
The portfolio headed by
Alexis Guerrera
pointed out that, as of Tuesday, buses will be able to carry
up to 20 standing passengers
(previously the limit was 10), in addition to those who occupy seats.
In the same vein, they expressed themselves from the Buenos Aires government.
In Nation, however, they asked not to exceed the capacity of available seats in the hours of less "service requirement" and when the demand is lower.
The City omitted that clarification.
As for the
metropolitan and regional trains
of national jurisdiction, the quota for the times of greatest demand is also extended:
up to 4 people
can now travel
stops per square meter
(the limit of one per square meter is no
longer
valid).
As with the groups, the national government indicates not to exceed the capacity of seats available during the hours of least service requirement.
Restrictions for
subway
trips were also relaxed
: now all seated passengers and
40 standing
passengers
per car
will be able to move
.
Until this Monday, only 15 could do it.
From the City they indicated that they will continue the controls in the stations and
advised against traveling in peak hours
: between 7 and 9 and between 16 and 19.
In the same way as in previous measures, Nación warned that in the face of a possible increase in covid cases, "originated for example as a result of a growing community circulation of the Delta variant", and a greater commitment to the epidemiological situation, the quotas will be adjusted. .
Reopening of subway stations
In addition to the flexibilisations in transport limits, the City Government also announced which will be the next subway stations that will be reopened to the public.
From
Tuesday 17 there
will be eleven stations that will be available again.
These are Rio de Janeiro and Piedras (Line A), Tronador and Echeverría (B), Moreno and San Juan (C), José Hernández (D), Belgrano and Catalinas (E) and Córdoba and Inclán (H).
In this way, there will already be 80 stations out of a total of 90 that will have their doors open, after the strong restrictions implemented at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
The
lines C and H remain fully operational
