Heatwave: ten departments in the South-East placed on orange alert

In these departments, temperatures will be above the heatwave thresholds, between 21 and 23 ° C at night, and 33 and 36 ° C during the day.

Peaks of 40 ° C could even be reached in the afternoons in the lower Rhône valley.

It was already 29 ° in Menton and 30 ° at Ile Rousse by mid-morning.

In the 16 departments placed on the yellow alert level, temperatures will also reach the heatwave thresholds.

But in eastern France, clouds with a few thunderstorms are possible, according to La Chaîne Météo.

Saturday is expected to be the hottest day, without breaking the heat records for August.

The Weather Channel calls for vigilance and residents to take precautionary measures in the face of the heat.

Temperatures should decrease on Monday, with the exception of Provence where we will have to wait one more day.
