Senior Inspector Yang Tiehao, the case supervisor of the third team of the Sham Shui Po Police District Criminal Investigation Team, explained the facts of the case that at 2:30 pm on August 22, a burglary occurred in Tung Ming Building, 380 Lai Chi Kok Road, Sham Shui Po.

The Dongming Building has undergone a large-scale repair project in March this year, so the building has a large scaffolding for repair workers to work on the outer wall.

The building has only a password gate, but no security guards.

On the day of the incident, the female victim was living in Dongming Building doing housework. During this period, she opened a window in the living room and placed her handbag about 3 meters away from the window.

Later, the female victim and her family were in the bedroom, and the culprit appeared outside the window on a large scaffold. He took advantage of the fact that when the living room was empty, he used a hook about 2 meters long and added a hook made of a buckled wire sweater rack into the living room.
