The echoes of the Yom Kippur War add to the tail in national memory, even these days, 48 years after the outbreak of the war.
As per the rules of ceremony, documents documenting grim chapters in the experiences of the most severe national crisis that has befallen the country are once again exposed.
One myth has been shattered shortly after the end of the war, and it is possible that even in the midst of the difficult battles, and the reference to Moshe Dayan. In the past, Dayan Meloi Eshkol, the prime minister, has already "stolen" the aura of the glorious victory in the Six Day War. But, it should be emphasized: Golda was not experienced in making security decisions. She was surrounded by senior champions with whom she consulted. The Agranat Commission "cleared" the political echelon, as is well known, of responsibility for the default. But in national memory, if we identify it correctly, Golda was commemorated as the "evil woman," the hated one. But it is natural that the bereaved families felt the waves of criticism towards Golda. There were even those who recently asked to be reckoned with Zachara, demanding that the ice cream brand cease to bear her name.
It should be noted that in her party, too, an earlier, hateful source emerged for Golda. Two of her sharp critics were the late Yossi Sarid and the late Shulamit Aloni, who encouraged the defamation of her image. Because the Egyptian condition was a retreat to the borders of 1967. She was a political "hawk", much to the chagrin of Sarid, Aloni and others. Her decisions were wiser, Bar-Yosef estimates, wiser than those made by some of the prime ministers before her.
