The Mecklenburg Municipal Service (KSM) and the Schwerin IT and Service Company (SIS) were the target of a cyber attack at the end of last week, as Schwerin's Mayor Rico Badenschier (SPD) announced on Friday.

The IT companies are responsible on the one hand for administration and on the other hand for the municipal companies.

For this reason, according to Badenschier, most of the IT infrastructure has been shut down.

In addition to the state capital, the Ludwigslust-Parchim district is also affected by the failures.
