Following the agreement that is supposed to shorten the interns' shifts, Professors Edith Matot of Ichilov and Yoram Kluger of Maimonides published a scathing letter in which they claim: "Without proper training and without monitoring morbidity and mortality, they will rise."

Strong opposition from the system:

After reaching agreements between the medical interns and Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz, Professors Edith Matot of Ichilov and Yoram Kluger of Maimonides published a letter in which they claim that shortening shifts will severely harm patients.

According to them, "training and therapeutic continuity are the basis for studying the medical profession and proper medical management of the patient. Without proper training, and without monitoring patients, morbidity and mortality will increase."

The two senior doctors state that "in the populist outline signed by the current Minister of Health and the government, the doctor will not know the patient."
