The American actress told of her arrest on her Twitter account, claiming she was arrested for demanding that the Biden administration and the Senate defend the right to vote.

Actress Alyssa Milano was arrested during a demonstration at the White House yesterday (Tuesday) on the right to vote, which the Senate is currently holding for a vote on it.

Milan spoke of her arrest yesterday on her Twitter account, and updated her followers that she is voting with members of the American Road, a non-profit organization that works for equal rights and constitutional freedoms.

Before her arrest in front of the White House, @peoplefor board member @Alyssa_Milano explained what's at stake: More than 425 anti-voter bills have been passed nationwide this year ALONE.

The actress, remembered for her roles in series such as "Who's the Boss" and "Enchanted," claimed she was arrested for "her demand that the Biden and Senate governments use their mandate to protect the right to vote."

The actress, who is a senior member of the organization, wrote: "Stand up with me and the members of the American Road organization and tell the Senate and the White House together that the right to vote should not be based on a place of residence."

Before leaving for the demonstration, the 48-year-old Milan wrote online about her intentions to continue her activities today.

"I'm going to risk arrest today," she said in a video she uploaded to Twitter, "because in the past year, 425 bills have been raised with the aim of restricting the right to vote, so I'm going to demand that our president do everything in his power to protect freedom of vote."
