US President Joe Biden will see his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron in Rome on Friday, just before the G20 summit, White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said on Tuesday.

This meeting comes as the United States tries to smooth things over after an episode of high diplomatic tension with France around a submarine contract, which has led the two presidents to speak on the phone already two times in the past few weeks.
