Vienna - Four people were injured in a knife attack in Austria's capital Vienna on Tuesday.

A 35-year-old had entered a snack bar in Vienna's Brigittenau district around 2 p.m. and grabbed a knife.

According to ORF, the guests present immediately fled outside.

The perpetrator also left the snack bar and stabbed passers-by at random.

In doing so, he inflicts superficial cuts, light stab wounds and tear wounds on the victims of the attack.

The police said that none of the victims were in mortal danger.

All four were admitted to the surrounding hospitals and treated.

The 35-year-old perpetrator was kept in check by other people present until the emergency services arrived.

According to the police, he let himself be taken into custody without resistance.

When he was arrested, however, he gave confused information, giving the impression of psychological impairment.
