Schleswig-Holstein's Greens want to lead the government after the state elections.

Finance Minister Heinold and State Parliament Vice President Touré should take first place.

The party relies on a mixture of experience and youth.

The top duo doesn't just leave one thing open.

Kiel - Finance Minister Monika Heinold (62) and State Parliament Vice President Aminata Touré (28) should lead the Greens as a top duo in the state election in Schleswig-Holstein in 2022.

"I would like to go to the State Chancellery, I would like to become Prime Minister," said Heinold on Wednesday in Kiel.

The goal is to be number one in the state elections on May 8th.

Heinold left the coalition question open.

She said she was not letting the coalition with the SPD and SSW, which had ruled until 2017, or the alliance with the CDU and FDP, which has been in office since then, speak badly.

Touré emphasized, "I dare to do something".

You could imagine leading the parliamentary group, but also think that taking over a government office is conceivable.

"We will see everything else after the election."

State chairman Steffen Regis said, "we understand politics as a team task".

Heinold is the most suitable Prime Minister for the upcoming legislature.

The co-chair Anna Tranziska emphasized that it was two women, was not the decisive point.

The Greens hoped to address different target groups with the candidates.

Previously, the party leadership had proposed the dual leadership.

The Greens want to vote for their state list at a party congress from December 10th to 12th in Neumünster.

The Greens have been ruling in the north since 2017 in a Jamaica alliance under Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) with the Union and FDP.
