After anti-democratic statements by a controversial major donor, the Humboldt Forum in Berlin wants to review other private donations.
"We currently have no evidence of comparable statements from other major donors who have been honored with portrait medallions," said a statement by the Humboldt Forum Foundation to the German Press Agency in Berlin.
Berlin - In the interest of all donors, “we will investigate this internally”.
The medallion for Ehrhardt Bödecker will be removed "immediately".
Previously, Ehrhardt Bödecker's family, major donors for the reconstructed palace facade of the Center for Art, Culture and Science, had confirmed anti-democratic statements.
Bödecker, who died in 2016, was known "as a controversial conservative and Prussian enthusiast with numerous merits," wrote daughter-in-law Elvira Tasbach and son Andreas Bödecker in a statement to the foundation that was disseminated by a lawyer.
The statements made known by the Kassel professor for architectural theory, Philipp Oswalt, were previously unknown to them.
