The Sea Eye 4 ship with over 800 migrants on board is located off the port of Trapani where it should arrive in the early afternoon.
The German ship, which already had 400 migrants on board, rescued 400 people in Maltese Sar waters on the night of 4 November last year together with the Mission Lifeline ship.
The migrants are all on Sea Eye 4. "It is a shame that Malta ignored the calls for help", said the NGOs who reported that they had intervened to help a two-story wooden boat with a leak in the hull from which water entered .
Meanwhile, the Ocean Viking ship is in the waters south of Lampedusa with 308 migrants on board rescued in recent days off the coast of Libya awaiting indications for a safe harbor.
