Member of the Qatari leadership and political relations official in the Arab Socialist Baath Party in Lebanon, Muhammad Shakir al-Qawas, affirmed that Syria is the strategic Arab depth for Lebanon.
Al-Qawas said in a statement to SANA reporter in Beirut that the situation in Lebanon necessitates the current government to quickly review and correct its course and return to distinguished normal relations with Syria and not to link this matter to any agenda outside the supreme national interest of Lebanon.
Al-Qawas pointed out that the return of Arab coordination with Syria is evidence of the failure of all bets on targeting it and prove that these failed bets have made the Arabs lose more of their capabilities, solidarity and unity.
