The music summer at Walchenseekraft will take place again in 2022.

The Uniper Group is carrying out the project together with the KKK in Lenggries.

The program will be presented shortly so that advance sales start before Christmas.

Kochel am See / Lenggrie

s - The test balloon has started successfully - and now it should fly: Those responsible for the new cultural program in the Loisach Valley will also hold the "Music Summer at the Walchenseekraftwerk" in 2022 and want to develop it into a permanent fixture in the summer calendar of events. This is what both the Uniper Group and Sabine Pfister from “KleinKunst und Kultur” (KKK) in Lenggries say when our newspaper requests it.

The idea for this comes from Theodorus Reumschüssel. He is not only press spokesman for the hydropower Germany division at Uniper, but also a hobby musician himself. With the backing of the group, he was able to put his private idea into practice and brought Sabine and Stefan Pfister from the KKK in Lenggries on board. Reumschüssel even speaks of "a stroke of luck in my professional career that I am allowed to work with the Pfisters". The two people from Lenggries take care of artist contracts, appointments and advance ticket sales, and the Uniper Group provides the stage and infrastructure such as light, sound and electricity, also takes care of the seating and organizes parking. "We have found that we can do it together as a team and that we share the same values of what music should convey",reports Pfister.

Rainy weather does not spoil the balance sheet

Six concerts took place in July and August 2021.

“We were excited to see how it would be received.

And then of course with Corona requirements, ”recalls Sabine Pfister.

200 guests could come.

Demand was good, and some concerts were even sold out.

Only the weather didn't play along: “We had rain at five out of six concerts,” says Reumschüssel.

"It was really an endurance test." And Sabine Pfister jokes: "We are now practically washed away."

Actually only part of the outdoor area is covered.

The company reacted and organized tents with which the roof can be extended backwards.

“Even when it rained it was a good mood.

The evenings were fulfilling and we found all the concerts to be a success, ”says Reumschüssel.

Reumschüssel does not reveal how much money Uniper is making available.

Only this much: one is able to “not have to negotiate tough about the budget”.

The energy company wants to "give the region something in terms of tourism and culture".

Program presentation shortly

In the coming year, six concerts are planned again in July.

The two want to present which artists are coming at a press conference before Christmas.

Sabine Pfister can only be elicited from hints: "There is something for the younger and the elderly again, music in Bavarian and something in English," she says with a smile.

Instead of 200 seats, they want to try 300 for the new edition.

"Of course, it depends on the applicable Corona rules," emphasizes the organizer.

In terms of organization, Reumschüssel doesn't want to grow too fast too quickly, if at all: “We are also thinking of the team that takes care of parking spaces and ticket control.

We don't want to go to the limit straight away. "
