Memmingen / Memmingerberg - The apparently violent death of a 16-year-old girl from Memmingen shakes the region! After her parents could no longer reach the 16-year-old on Sunday evening (November 14, 2021), they reported the young person to the Memmingen police as missing on Monday morning (November 15). A large-scale search also took the officers to Memmingerberg, where they found the 16-year-old dead near the airport. The young woman had "died of massive external violence," said the police and the public prosecutor in an initial statement.
According to the police press office, the 16-year-old was found dead by police forces on Monday morning near the airport premises after clarifying known locations and further investigations.
According to Dominic Geißler from the press office of the Swabian South / West Police Headquarters in Kempten, there were probably also indications of the location in the course of the investigation.
Exactly how the young person died is not disclosed at the moment for tactical reasons.
However, it is assumed that the 16-year-old died on Sunday.
The investigations under the direction of the Memmingen public prosecutor and the competent commissariat of the Memmingen criminal police continue to run under high pressure and with the use of a larger police force.
Two suspects arrested
The very first investigations led to suspicions against a 25-year-old German national from the Unterallgäu district, who was known to the police, and a 15-year-old German national. Both suspects were arrested on the same day as part of the manhunt. The relationship between the victim and the two suspects is currently not known, according to Geißler, the only thing that is certain is that the three of them knew each other. The police did not say why the man is already known to the police.
Who of the two suspects is responsible for the death of the 16-year-old victim and to what extent cannot be said at the moment. The press spokesman could neither deny nor confirm whether the two suspects were in a relationship. The motive and course of events as well as the question of the relationship between the victim and the alleged perpetrator are currently the subject of ongoing investigations.
When the crime scene was recorded, forensic doctors from forensic medicine from Ulm University Hospital were also at the site of the discovery, as was a representative of the Memmingen public prosecutor's office.
At the request of the public prosecutor's office, the two suspects will be brought before the competent court on Tuesday (November 16, 2021), probably in the early afternoon, to examine their pre-trial detention.
The responsible judge decides everything else.
According to the police, there is an urgent suspicion against the two suspects.
