"Position social worker" Chen Hongxiu and 8 others were accused of participating in the riot in Wan Chai the year before.
Chen Hongxiu was found to be unfounded, while the other seven defendants in the same case were found acquitted after the trial.
Chen applied to the court to recover the costs, but was opposed by the prosecution, accusing Chen of suspicion.
District Court Judge Shen Xiaomin issued a verdict today (16th), and the accuser’s reasons were untenable, and he ruled that Chen Ke obtained legal costs.
The judge stated in the ruling that Chen had to bear part of the expenses in applying for legal aid, and she asked the prosecution to pay.

The prosecution objected, believing that Chen was suspicious, and that Chen was wearing black clothes, wearing a gas mask and loudspeakers, and appeared at the scene of the riot.
These equipment clearly indicated that she had come prepared and had premeditated to stay at the assembly site in violation of police instructions.
Chen must know the reason why she was on the scene, but she failed to provide a strong and effective explanation at an earlier time, which was enough to constitute the cost of refusal.

However, the judge believed that Chen's words and actions were all exposed, and the judge could not see Chen's collection of strong evidence.
The judge held that the prosecution’s reasons were not valid.
