Zeevi Katzenelbogen was slightly injured in a terrorist attack today (Sunday) at the entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem.

In a conversation at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, he recounted the moment of the injury, "I felt a strong pain in my arm, instead of the tefillin."

The wounded man said that he came from the Western Wall plaza and heard a burst of gunfire.

"While trying to figure out what was going on I got a sharp pain in my arm, I was looking for a closed structure to get into and I entered the alley," he described.

"I got a shard right in place of the tefillin."

Zeevi described the medical treatment as an "visible miracle" and declared: "I am alive, breathing and happy."

The attack took place in the area at 09:00 in the morning near the Temple Mount, at the entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem.

The terrorist shot dead a man and wounded three others.

The terrorist, Fadi Abu Shahidam, who was shot and killed, was known to the police on criminal grounds.

However, he was not previously detained by the GSS, and was a recognized teacher on the Temple Mount.

The death of a wounded man in his 30s was determined in the trauma unit at Hadassah Mount Scopus.

He is evacuated with a severe head injury during resuscitation operations and with no signs of life.

Police chief and the commander of the Jerusalem District arrived on the scene, and police began an investigation into the circumstances of the attack.

Internal Security Minister Omer Bar-Lev came to the scene and noted that the terrorist is a political arm of Hamas who prayed in the old town on a regular basis. According to Bar-Lev, "his wife fled abroad" "Three days ago, he used standard weapons that are not commonly used in Israel."

At the beginning of the cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett referred to the "difficult" attack, as he put it, that took place in Jerusalem.

"I received an update on the details of the incident, there was a swift action by our forces," he said.

"The policemen who were at the scene very quickly neutralized the terrorist."

The Prime Minister instructed the security forces to prepare accordingly "and to show vigilance, also for fear of inspirational attacks".

Hamas and other Palestinian organizations in the Gaza Strip welcomed the attack.

"The revolutionary youths will continue their legitimate struggle until they achieve their freedom, liberate their land and regain control of the holy sites," said Hazem Qassem, a Hamas spokesman.
