In the second instance, the Swedish EU parliamentarian Peter Lundgren was found guilty of sexual harassment. There is no doubt that Lundgren grabbed a party colleague against her will in March 2018, said the competent court of appeal in Jönköping, Sweden. He was sentenced to pay 60 daily rates of 1000 kroner - the equivalent of a total of almost 6000 euros.
The 58-year-old was acquitted of the allegation of sexual harassment about a year ago by the lower court.
The public prosecutor's office had appealed against this.
She has now presented more extensive evidence before the court of appeal.
As the Swedish newspaper "Aftonbladet" reports, an audio recording of the conversation between Lundgren and his party colleague was played.
This underpinned the woman's allegations.
Lundgren had initially admitted the allegations
According to her account, Lundgren had forced her to sit on his lap during a party.
"Give me a kiss," he is said to have asked her and taken hers to the chest.
The celebration took place in March 2018 after a party congress.
Shortly before the 2019 European elections, preliminary investigations were initiated against the top candidate of the right-wing populist Sweden Democrats.
According to the prosecutor, he was said to have grabbed his colleague at a party in a hotel room.
Lundgren had initially admitted this, but described the original report in the newspaper Expressen as exaggerated.
He had denied criminal behavior.
The woman concerned said the charges against Lundgren were against her will.
