After being postponed at the beginning of the year due to the spread of the corona plague, the Tiberias International Marathon will be held for the 44th time on December 10, 2021. The marathon, which revolutionized the running culture in Israel, will take place in several events: full marathon (42.2 km), half marathon (21.1 km), 10 km and 5 km running.
Every year, thousands of runners, professionals and amateurs, register for the Tiberias International Marathon, the oldest running competition in Israel. "Fertile ground" for record results, with the marathon record result being 2:07:30 achieved by runner Patrick Tambweve from France.
The marathon will take place between 6:00 and 13:30 (notice of alternative traffic arrangements will be distributed later) and residents of the city of Tiberias and the region are invited to come out, participate, encourage the runners and take part in the marathon events.
So far, about 3,000 runners have registered for the marathon and the organizers expect that by the start of December, many thousands more will secure their place.
The runners who enter the competition will receive a product package that includes: an official sweat-wicking race shirt and a sports bag from the SAUCONY company, a chest number according to the personal jump assignment, a disposable electronic measuring chip and many other promotions and benefits.
The Tiberias Marathon is one of three international sporting events taking place this year in Tiberias.
It is preceded by the World Windsurfing Championship - PWA which took place last June and the prestigious IRONMAN competition which took place last November.
This is a series of events that takes place in the city of Tiberias with the aim of making the city an international tourist center. The companies that won the tender to produce the events are Target Market and the Comtech Group.

The owners of the companies, Miri Sinai from Target Market and Danny Benaim from the Comtek Group,
said that the city of Tiberias has become Israel's international sports capital, strengthening Israeli propaganda in the world and revealing the spectacular landscapes of Tiberias among millions of people.
The fact that this is the third event in the last year brings thousands of people to the city and thus strengthens the tourism and business of the northern capital.
