At least 24 migrants were killed when their boat capsized while trying to cross a channel from France to reach Britain.
Today, 24 bodies have been recovered, while 26 others have been rescued, Reuters quoted Frank Dersen, the mayor of Titegim district, as saying.
In turn, a local official in the Coast Guard suggested that the number of drowned people may rise, because the condition of some of the rescued migrants is serious.
French TV channel BFM had earlier reported that five people had drowned in the channel.
